Booster, display, ETB or box: sealed Pokémon products

What a booster, display, Elite Trainer Box or box contains, and how to choose between these sealed products.

Sealed Pokémon products sometimes have unclear names. Here's what each contains.

The booster

Booster in blister

A booster contains about ten cards from an expansion, drawn at random, including at least one rare card. It is the cheapest product.

The display

A display (or "booster box") contains about thirty boosters from the same expansion, most often 36 for main expansions. Collectors buy it to open many boosters or to keep a sealed box.

The Elite Trainer Box (ETB)

A recent ETB contains 9 boosters, a promo card, 65 sleeves, 45 Energy cards, dice, markers, and a sturdy storage box. The content varies slightly depending on the expansions.

The boxes

Mini tin

A box contains a few boosters and one or more exclusive promo cards, sometimes with a figurine. The promo card often makes the box appealing.

To open or keep sealed

  • To complete a collection, open the boosters and buy the missing cards individually.
  • To preserve a product, keep it in its original packaging, away from light and humidity. An opened product or one with damaged packaging loses a lot of value.

Buying a sealed product

There are also counterfeit or resealed sealed products. Check that the plastic film is intact and regular, compare with photos of an authentic product, and be wary of prices that are too low. On BDPokéCards, counterfeits are prohibited, and the buyer who receives one is reimbursed.

Sealed products can be found in the booster, display, Elite Trainer Box, and box sections.
